Why is it that any software crime becomes a Microsoft crime?

Intuit releases a flawed program with a flawed installer and .NET is damned for it?

Intuit's a big company, they can shoulder their own blame. No need to try to pin this one on Microsoft and .NET!

Let's try a little word substitution and and see if it sounds reasonable.

"If you write in-house software, which will be installed on a homogenous set of systems, then CPAN is great. However, if you can’t count on the configuration of the systems your product will be run on, you should probably avoid CPAN like the plague."

You just damned Perl and a decade's worth of open source *nix libraries to oblivion. Kind of silly, huh?

Actually, I do blame Intuit for this problem.

I also agree with you that Microsoft bashing is unproductive, and lets people off the hook way to easy.
