I do agree that the problem exists, but I don't agree with the "Decline and Fall" conclusion. Quite vice versa, I believe the agile is flourishing nowadays.. even though many implementations are not as good as they could potentially be: http://agilesoftwaredevelopment.com/blog/artem/rise-and-flourishing-agile
